This is a surf site and the surf-fishing (which I mean in the most honest of ways) has been great. But it's nothing new , it is late November and thus... Trout are in thier haunts and you should B 2. Had twenty-some yesterday to 5.5 lbs. Surf -fish all in one morning!

You need one (assuming you're not on food stamps, disabled, or fishing with a cane pole), but as long as the kids are under 16, they're good to go. You can order them online, or grab one from the sporting goods dept. at KMart in Neptune.

Don't need a license under 16 years old, and yes the law changed with respect to shore/structure fishing (salt), you do need a license now.

:edit: damn, not as fast as Nate...

A nice option is you can call on the go and just need to write down the license number, works great for a last minute, unlicensed person joining you.

Unless you plan on leaving Florida, get the 5-year license, credit card style. The FWS like seeing them, they have always commented on mine.

I plan on being ashes in the ocean here one day. Took me too long to get back home to leave again. :)
How much is that 5 year deal?

$79. Go check that link I put up, has all the info and it's where you can order it. If you're fishing tomorrow just print out the receipt to take with you, works until you can get the license in the mail.

Been catching nice size blue fish in the surf in AB lately. Enough to make a lot of smoked fish dip.

abundance of other fish, small reds, whitting, largish catfish, rays but nothing worth keeping.

Fishing is supposed to be good this weekend, but Mrs. Belly wants to clean house and I agree. I might sneak out at midnight Sat for some river fishing.

Dude, you've become a fishing psychopath.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Figures the weekend you gotta do chores my ladyfriend is out of town.

yeah, but I will be out there next weekend. Maybe I should crash at your place to avoid bugging the inlaws at 2 in the morning. If we could have a fire, I would sleep right there on the beach tent style like you did last weekend.

You can't eat blues can you? Never caught one.
Using Shrimp? just off the beach or around up on the NJ-tties?

There's a hole about 20 yards south of Dewees access that Blues bite on chopped mullet pretty regular. If you have a pompano rig with a shrimp on one hook and a piece of mullet on the other, you can't loose at incoming tide. Been having lots of fun with it. and yeah you can eat the blues, just cut the blood line out of the middle of the fillet when you skin it. Basically make 2 fillets per side.
There are some reds in that area, so if you want to try your luck with a cut up crab, you could have fun. but if you are really looking for reds/pompano I am guessing the old pier near 10th is probably where they are hunting from what I have read.
