Been fishing every day since Wednesday... nothing special just big croakers and a few trout..Saturday at Mayport thought my wife hooked this monster. I had to reel it in for her though as it was too much for her!

So on Friday we got the Gheenoe all loaded up and we headed to the boat ramp. I put the boat in the water and parked the truck. I walked back to the boat only to see 3 inches of water in the boat. I walked right back to the truck and we got the boat and went back home. We unloaded the boat and flipped it over to find a nice quarter sized hole in the bottom of the boat.

:o

Donovan said "Dad the boat's sinking!"

Mommy said "At least we have a cooler full of beer and snacks."

went fishing Sunday morning 930-100 or so...in the cold, miserable rain.. finally caught a flounder..not huge, but nice little 17"-er. My wife caught a small fish we've never caught or seen before...looked it up on the interweb. Striped Mojarra...(Where found: brackish and coastal fresh waters (in limestone regions), grassy areas)

Fished Elton Bottom area yesterday. Out of the jetties around 7:45 with 1-2 foot seas and a light breeze. Slow to start the day with mixed bag of sharks and throwback snapper. Made the move offshore after not much luck with the inshore #'s. Finally found a spot holding some descent snapper in 71 degree water. Kept 6 snaps with the biggest going about 29 inches. All caught with frozen cigar minnows and cuddlefish. Tried jigging up bait at a few spots but couldn't find any.

Also saw a huge leatherback turtle. Probably close to 6 feet long. Had a whole school of remoras living under him. Absolutely amazing.

Like an idiot, I left the cam at home. Would have loved some pics of that turtle in the clear blue water. I'm not going to make that mistake again.
